Jinny Beyer, in her book The Quilter's Album of Blocks and Borders, dates Interlocked Squares from the 1930s. I've updated this classic quilt block by including variations incorporating a central star, a Kaleidoscope motif, and by tilting it at an angle. The two plain-centered versions can showcase intricate quilting, embroidery, a special novelty print or even a photo printed onto fabric. They also make excellent signature blocks.
The 12-inch (30.5cm) Interlocked Squares quilt block pattern comprises clear instructions, annotated paper piecing pattern sections and resizing information to sew all four variations shown in a range of sizes.
This is an INTERMEDIATE level paper pieced quilt pattern - it is NOT suitable for first-time paper piecers.
