Pattern Description:

A chevron stripe adds zip and cheer to any quilt blanket. This versatile and easy pattern can be your go to place to find the perfect handmade gift to make for your family and friends.

The pattern includes 2 versions, one with borders on the ends and 3 chevron stripes, one with no borders and 4 chevron stripes.The material list included here on Craftsy is for the 4 stripe version. The supply list for the 3 stripe version is on the pdf pattern.

The applique chevron stripes are sewn with the fabric edges raw, exposed. It is designed to fray to the stitches, giving a textured, unaffected look to the quilt. The applique and the quilting are done at the same time. There is no binding; the edges are finished by sewing all around and then clipping the edges to fray.

Every step in this quilt was planned to create the most beautiful quilt possible in the most efficient way possible.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • approximately 41x57 inches (104cmx 145cm)


  • 1 3/4 yard (1.60m) cotton fabric for background of the quilt
  • 1 3/4 yard (1.60m) flannel fabric for the back of the quilt.
  • 1 3/4 yard (1.60m) flannel fabric for the batting layer of the quilt. (This will show a bit at the outside edges of the quilt)
  • 1 yard (1.14m) fabric for the top chevron fabric
  • 1 yard (1.14m) flannel for the background of the chevrons
  • Thread to match the back of the quilt
