Basic Skills Necessary:

  • ability to knit lace (yo's, ssk, k2tog)
  • understand concept of knitting on the edging while BO
  • knit in the round

Pattern Description:

Prevenche is the French word for periwinkle ... and in the language of flowers, Prevenche means "sweet remembrance". And that's just what you'll do when you wear this lovely lacy poncho -- leave sweet memories!

The poncho is knit in the round from the top down with the edging knitted on as you bind off the 288 sts. A full 4-foot diameter circle flows and floats and flirts ...

The sample was knit in Tofutsie (a wool/soysilk/cotton/chitin blend) but would work equally nicely in any of the hand-dyed sock yarns available on the market.

Due to the lacy, airy "hand" of this poncho, it's a year-round accessory that will become a favorite!
