I love to look of this, but $5 for a pattern categorized as novice is way over priced.

I really new at knitting, is this pattern really for the beginner? I already purchase some yarn ( color:eggplant/Aubergine hoping to find the right pattern for me. I think this is it! This is beautiful and modern. Can this be made longer to wear as a buttoned wrap? will this yarn work for this pattern? Lion Brand-Wool Ease Thick & Quick; #6 super bulky, 1 skein; 6 oz/170g, 106yd/97m. 80% Acrylic, 20% wool. sz. Knitting needle; 13(9mm).
I hope I supplied enough information. Thanks!

Hi renev.hen. If you know how to knit and purl, you can surely knit it. You will need around 160 yards to knit this neckwarmer but if you want it longer (which is possible to create a button wrap), you'll need more.

I think your yarn choice might be ok with the needles the label recommends. The neckwarmer size might be a little smaller than mine though. Another thing you can do is knit it with two strands of your chosen yarn together with needle size 12mm or 15mm to get a more accurate size.

Can you tell me the name of the yarn used? Very pretty color!

I'm afraid I can't help there. I no longer have the label. If you have a yarn in mind for this neckwarmer, I can let you know if it will be suitable.

I am pretty new to knitting and I have the neck warmer about 1/2 done. I am starting to wonder if it is going to be a little floppy. I am using # 19 US size needles and my yarn is LionBrand super bulky #6, the weight is 5 oz. 142 g. Do you think this will work out for me? Also wondering how you know where to fold when done and where to put buttons, are the buttons for decoration or to actually use?

Not having made this pattern, but having made a similar one, the buttons are to hold it where it needs to be. the one you can see in the picture is to keep the layer underneath from slipping. the others are to keep the top where it needs to be. As for floppy. I am guessing it should fine. it will naturally fold where it needs to fold. I am also fairly new but love trying fun beautiful patterns. Good luck with your project, it is a lovely Neck Warmer

Definitely try the needle size #17 if you think it's turning out floppy. The buttons are to be permanently sewn in place. Instructions and photos are given for folding the piece. It's simple really.

Since I am now on row 35, I guess I will just keep going with the size 19.
I didn't see the instructions for the buttons and folding, I will have to look again, I must have missed a page. thank you
