Tree of Life 16 x 16 Pillow Cover

(6) Name: 'Knitting : Tree of Life 16 x 16 Pillow Cover
Tree of Life 16 x 16 Pillow Cover
Tree of Life 16 x 16 Pillow Cover

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Cable knitting
  • Following/counting row by row instructions
  • single crochet for border

Pattern Description:

The classic shape of a tree lends itself so well to the incorporation of knit cables into a curving trunk and branches.

There are many knit tree designs available, but I wanted to create my own. After many hours of knitting, note scribbling, re-knitting and tweaking; many prototypes and design changes, this is the final result.

I used a worsted weight yarn for this 16" x 16" pillow cover.
It has a 3 button closure and is finished with a single crochet border.
The pattern is written row by row, not as a chart.
If you are familiar with using a cable needle and counting rows you should have no trouble with this pattern.
