Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You need to know how to knit and purl. Other stitches used are yarn over and decreasing, however, they are illustrated in charts and symbols and are explained clearly so that a beginner can follow the instructions.

Pattern Description:

This pattern is for a simple to knit yet delicate & intricate looking lace scarf.

* The scarf is QUICK TO KNIT using large sized needles & only 1 ball of yarn in any color you wish.

* The PATTERN IS 3 PAGES LONG, very detailed and includes tutorials with colored photographs and charts.

* The CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS are given in words (not abbreviations) and also in graph format.

* A CHART IS INCLUDED that shows knitting symbols, abbreviations and their explanations.

* The pattern is WRITTEN IN A STEP-BY-STEP MANNER with a checklist so that you won't get lost knitting this.

* This pattern looks complicated, but it has only 4 rows. Two of the rows are identical, so YOU ONLY HAVE TO LEARN 3 ROWS. Once you do a repeat or two, you'll easily memorize the stitch.

* If you should have any questions, I've included my email so that YOU CAN ALWAYS CONTACT ME FOR ASSISTANCE.

* A Turorial for STEAM BLOCKING this scarf will help you get professional looking results.

* The pattern is SUITABLE FOR ADVANCED BEGINNERS and intermediate knitters.

* Not only is the stitch pretty, but it forms a delightful zig-zag at the edges of the scarf that will keep it from rolling once it's blocked.

The gauge is really not important for this scarf. The scarf's measurements may differ slightly if you are a very tight or loose knitter. This really doesn't matter and it will look beautiful no matter what your gauge turns out to be.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • The scarf measures 5 inches by 50 inches after blocking.

  • 50 grams dk or sport weight yarn
  • Knitting needles size 10

You Will Also Need:

  • Large eyed blunt yarn sewing needle
  • Row counter (optional)
