My passion for jewellery designing and making started 12 years ago with a silversmithing course and I have since embraced other techniques such as stringing, bead weaving, chain maille, resin but my true love is wirework in which I now specialize.
I have contributed a monthly project to Beads & Beyond for the past 3 years, written numerous tutorials which I sell on my website and I am the author of The Absolute Beginner's Guide: Making Wire Jewellery (published by Kalmbach books) which teaches you in great detail all the basic techniques you need to become proficient at wirework.
Don't forget to download my free tutorial about the basic tools you need to get started in wirework.
Most wireworkers have a particular metal which they favour above all others but the charm of this particular pattern is that it is specifically designed for use with coloured wire. The tutorial shows you how to make one bead which you can then use to make any number of pieces as shown in the examples.
The colours open up a whole new dimension by making wire rather than beads the centre of attention. The combinations of colours are infinite as you have 3 elements to play with: the bead, the inner wire and the outer wire.
This is a super easy yet sophisticated pattern to give your jewellery a whole new dimension.
