What are you most proud of? This project is a good use of recycled materials...and can be personalized according to what type of book you use. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Keep it simple...less is definitely more in this project, as you can see by the two different styles I've shown you! I cut oval shapes, by hand, which means nothing is the same size or shape, which gives these a really rustic look. You'll start on the outer layer and work your way in to the center. It takes quite a few "petals" to create a full, lush flower like these, but they do come together quickly. I distressed the edges by brushing with a small ink pad. I definitely prefer the black ink! A very light sprinkling of clear glitter or angel dust dresses them up, for sure! I cut a plain white round circle and glued it to the center back, so you can write on it, if you want to use these as gift tags. This style measures about 4" across and I used over 40 petals in each.
