Capture the simplistic innocence of a flower within embroidery floss and paper! A home made card is always a special touch when sending someone a note. As a girl, I'm positively in love with flowers and sparkles. As an artist, I also enjoy variety of textures. I got this idea from combining an embroidery stitch I learned with some scrapbooking paper a friend gave me. In our modern world of texting, email, and Facebook, my grandmothers still love sending handwritten notes to their friends. Every year I craft a dozen or so cards for them as a Christmas gift, and this is one that I designed for them. Now you can enjoy it too! The templates included can also be used to create a small collage to frame. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Basic sewing stitches Basic cutting and gluing Collage SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Finished dimensions of front of card: 5 1/2" by 4 1/4"

Supplies Needed

  • Four different shades of printed paper (I use scrapbooking paper)  One floral sheet for base  Three sheets in complimentary colors

Work of Her Hands
I taught myself to knit, crochet, and bead as a young teenager. I've always loved working with various materials and seeing images in my mind come to life in 3D. I've been selling my jewelry designs and fashion scarves for several years now. I thought I'd take this opportunity to share some of what I've created with y'all. :-) I came up with my store name from a Proverbs 31:31, which says, "Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates."
