Pink Hydrangea

Project Description

What was your source for this piece? Other Tell us a little more about your inspiration. I love hydrangeas and I absolutely love to paint them. Although there is always a lot of work involved. All these tiny petals. Usually I always go into a garden center and buy a hydrangea and do a lot of photos in hope to use several for a painting. I found this hydrangea in France and I immediately loved it. Couldn't wait until I got time to paint it. What type of piece is this? Painting Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. This pink hydrangea is painted on 140 Lb cold pressed paper. I used mostly Schmincke Watercolours and Daniel Smith Colours. A brush with a good point is also very important. Important is also that I used only transparent colours to work with layers as I love to build the colours carefully. Is the piece for sale? Yes Name of website or online shop Doris Joa Link to website or online shop www.dorisjoa.com

Beautiful work Doris. I love hydrangeas too, and have painted my blue ones in watercolor. All those petals are very time consuming, but it's worth it in the end.
Doris Joa answered:
Yes, I agree. Time consuming but always well worth. Glad you like them.
