My Original Pallete

Project Description

What type of piece is this? Collage/Mixed Media Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. I saw someone posted their pallet on the site. Looking at my watercolor one, I realized I first made the outer part nearly 20 years ago. Listing the brands and colors have made it easy to stay with my favorites. Of course, I have added some colors to a smaller round pallet as I started to love blue shades. I think it is a special part of my watercolor tools. Although I wish I had done it on a good grade of watercolor paper (it looks like copy paper), it lets me see how far I have come since then. What I find surprising is that a lot of the original colors are still my favorites to use. My paper pallet helps me to see the true color of the paints as I find color sometimes is difficult to "see" in my actual pallet of paints. I am still working on the Crafsty Bouquet. Having trouble with the roses and vase. Still filling in greenery. I'm slowly understanding how roses are put together. I'm thrilled with the rest of it. What are you most proud of? I kept up with the pallet for nearly 20 years. I also still paint primarily with my original pallet. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I think it is a great idea to have painted swatches of your pallet. Before I begin a lot of projects I will paint swatches of the main colors I will use. It helps me visualize what others colors I would like to use for objects.
