Pat Weaver asked:
Nice painting, watch your edges, would be the same thing no matter what medium you are working in.
BarbCapeletti answered:
Thanks, Pat! My first painting from your series. I will keep painting :)
bonnieblume44 asked:
I'm working on a King Charles Cavalier and am having trouble getting the colors right. The colors on your golden would work well. Would you share what colors you used to achieve such beautiful results? Thanks!
BarbCapeletti answered:
I did this in acrylic - my first one. I have since switched to oil paints but I think I use similar colors. Let me try and remember. I use a burnt sienna, yellow ocre, experimented with a bit of Alizarin Crimson added into the Burnt Sienna, and now I use Transparant Oxide Brown, Trans oxide Red, Cad red light, and cad yellow deep. Also, Quinacradone Burnt Orange and Quin Sienna - both are transparent colors and will give a lovely glaze of color and highlight as will the Transp Oxide Red. I now use only oil paints for portraits. Good luck! Barb
