First and Second Attempt at Class Model

Project Description

Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. 140 lb. Strathmore paper pad taped on the back cardboard that comes with the pad itself. Reeves watercolors and synthetic brushes. I did the first painting over a quick sketch with charcoal. The second was more measured over a base drawing with HB graphite pencil. I still haven't watch all the lessons so I expect to get better in my next attempts :-) Is the piece for sale? No

Q&A with ErnestoEckart

Mary P. Murphy asked:
Ernesto -- this reminds me of Matisse. Check out this painting: http://www.topofart.com/artists/Matisse/art-reproduction/4825/Bouquet-of-Flowers-in-a-White-Vase.php Interesting to combine wc and charcoal...you might also want to check out wc colored pencils and caran d'ache watercolor crayons (see http://www.dickblick.com/products/caran-dache-neocolor-ii-artists-crayon-sets/) you can draw with them and then go over them with a wet watercolor brush to get wonderful effects. Love your willingness to go for it and experiment.
ErnestoEckart answered:
Thank you for the kind words Mary, I will try the colored WC pencils and crayons, sounds interesting! I am going to finish watching and learning from your lessons and post another flower arrangement using them.
