What was your source for this piece? Other Tell us a little more about your inspiration. Felt a friend deep loss of a beloved pet What type of piece is this? Painting Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Applied watercolor on 200lb cold press Saunders Waterford watercolor paper. Used a photograph for reference and for motivation. I work the pigment from a light to dark wash so the white of the paper and light pigment glows. I cover the background using a complementary dark pigment to give it depth. I use a variety of brushes to move the pigments around using a technique called loose to tight. Applying layer of pigments on top of washes. I have a deep satisfaction for painting people, pet and animal portraits. Is the piece for sale? No What are you most proud of? When I hear how a painting comes to life and has an amazing affect on a person to me that is positive energy to experience and is satisfying. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Try to have fun with it first, you don't have to have a lot of detail. Find that expression and focus on it for inspiration.
