Saved from Landfill

Project Description

What are you most proud of? That I got it to look the way I wanted and the original owners want it back lol. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Have patience and understand that the more you mess up - the better it looks when you are trying to get the old rustic feel!

What you will need

  • An old 4 drawer Dresser someone had put on the curb A mixture of paints from the Hazardous Waste Depot. Aka - the Dump for chemicals. They save anything re usable and let anyone who needs it
  • take it ... free of charge to avoid landfilling it. A big piece of heavy chain to beat the poop out of it after I sanded it and before I started painting it. It giives it a lot of dings and knicks to add more to the aged appearance. A few pieces of left over trim and plywood from renovations to make the shelf and add some more design factor. A home made polish - Olive oil and lemon juice. And I used rags instead of paint brushes ... rubbed on watered down paints instead of brushing on solid paints. a LOT of sandpaper. Sand
  • Paint
  • sand
  • paint
  • pain
  • sand and paint again!
