Rockin' Pony Floor Lamp

What are you most proud of? I re-used stuff we had around the house to dress him up. The lampshade hat was an old holiday keepsake and the mane was my daughter's witch's wig. I crocheted the saddle blanket from wool and my husband helped me turn it into a working lamp. I am especially proud of the saddle as I made that all by myself from wood and this is the project is where I became friends with the jigsaw. What advice would you give someone starting this project? To strip old furniture I use a heat gun and paint scraper to get off the original paint. Then I go over the item with a hand sander first using course then fine sand paper. This works much better for me than using messy, smelly and toxic paint strippers.
