Fly Agaric Mushrooms

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I am pleased that I was able to make 30 of these mushrooms (photo only shows a few) and every one is different and has a personality. I will probably reuse them for Easter. What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you like these, just copy them! No pattern needed. I used white and "red" Model magic but ended up painting the red because it was a bright, vivid pink-red, and I wanted a classic dark red. Start with the stems and put a toothpick into each one for structure. LET THEM DRY. Then add the caps and LET THEM DRY. Then paint the stems with a very watery brown wash and LET IT DRY. Then red for the cap and... you know. Then the white dots. Then the clear coat for gloss if you want it. I guess that's the advice- let each step completely dry before you move on or you'll have a shroomy mess!

What you will need

  • Model Magic
  • wooden toothpicks
  • acrylic paint
  • acrylic gloss (liquid)
