Covered Cheese Boxes

What are you most proud of? I love how these boxes turn out. Each one is fun to make and there are so many ways you can decorate them. I've made 6 so far, they store lots of things while making an interesting addition to the room. They are pretty rough, being made from very light weight, pliable wood. With all of the fabric and batting that goes into covering them they become quite sturdy. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Keep your eyes peeled for unusual items that can be covered, painted and decorated and repurposed. It's so much fun to be creative.

You Can Make This

Betsy0 made Covered Cheese Boxes with:

  • Cheese box from a Deli Store ($1.00)
  • decorating fabric (Joann's)
  • sewing

Q&A with Betsy0

VicMansfield asked:
I want one!! they are fantastic! What sort of cheese comes in a box that big??
Betsy0 answered:
Wheel sized cheddar cheese. Do you have any little speciality deli's nearby. My friends in that town led me to them, for just $1. I couldn't say no, even if I never covered it. I do have a thing for baskets and boxes.
