Beer Soap

Project Description

What are you most proud of? My first "experimental" batch and it is going to be very good. The smell is beautiful, slightly sweet, faintly citrus and a bit of yeasty character. A couple days after cutting and firming up nicely. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make a few or more batches simple soaps before trying beer. It can be touchy combining with the lye. You have to really be careful and be sure the beer is totally flat. I put this batch back in the mold to cure another 24 hours since it was so crumbly and moist when first taken out. Still a bit crumbly, but much better. To prevent breaking while cutting, I sprayed my knife blade with Pam and slide the bars off the knife. That kept the bars intact. In the pic of the bars in the box, what looks like foam on one of the bars is Pam residue from the knife. I'm making more off this today!
