Beer Soap #2

Project Description

What are you most proud of? It is turning out really well! I thought to make a double batch, but because it reaches trace and thickens so quickly, I did it in two batches. I also tweaked my recipe a little in hopes of a firmer soap in the end. The first batch is my recipe and fragrance added. The second batch I wanted to aim specifically toward women, so added Calendula petals at trace along with a citrusy-floral fragrance. Then added more petals on top. Quite nice, I think. UPDATE: at 24 hours this is gorgeous soap, appearance and scent. I love it. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Once you really understand the whole process, experiment...carefully!

Damsel asked:
This soap looks like sliced bread! I bet it's wonderful!
akpharvey@yahoo.com answered:
Thank you. It really is nice. I am surprised at how much I like it. The aroma is very complex; sweet, malty, warm, a hint of chocolate, fresh. I really love it.
