I'm still enamored with the new twin/super duo beads. Every year I make one snowflake Christmas ornament and one star Christmas ornament pattern. This year I set out to make a snowflake pattern with super duo beads. When I was finished I realized there was a star in the center of the snowflake, so I call it a starflake. This ornament measures 1.75 inches. It makes a wonderful Christmas tree ornament, package decoration or even a pendant for your favorite chain. It works up quickly so you can bead a whole snow flurry in no time at all. On the pattern pages, I have provided you with: Pictures of the finished product Step by step illustrated instructions accompanied by text List of supplies Approximate Finished size: 1.75 inch Supplies Used: Twin or super duo beads (super duos recommended) and size 11 seed beads Technique: Modified netting Pages to Print: 4 with cover Skill Level: Advanced beginner. The Bead Doodler
I've been designing beaded jewelry since 2007. My initial attempts at designing were to make beautiful jewelry with semi-precious (healing) stones. The beads kind of took over my life and I'm not particular what I use to design with as long as it is a high quality bead. I can't say I have a favorite stitch or type of bead, but lately I've been experimenting with the new Twin beads and Super Duos. Next on my to-do list is design some items with Cubic Right Angle Weave with the Twins. It works in my head, now to put thread and beads to it.
