Hi, Some years ago I entered a US beading competition ( a 'physical' one, not online!) with a sculptural dragon I'd made, and was privileged and lucky enough to win both the Judges top prize and the Members' prize. Not much sculptural beading was going on back then, and I made it up as I went along, basically. After the results were published online and elsewhere, I had a lot of emails from other beaders asking for hints and tips and any help I could give them to start their own adventures into sculptural beading, so I wrote this tutorial. Please note, despite the photos, this is NOT a tutorial or a pattern specifically to teach you how to make a dragon like mine, but IS full of tips on how to do some elements of beading on a 3-D form - how to create the structure and then how to bead and shape the 'skin'. The nine pages contain detailed descriptions of a lot of the techniques I used, along with clear diagrams. There may be many other ways of course, but this is how I did mine and it worked! Enjoy!
