Lose all dignity and embrace the whimsical with this adorable little pitcher pendant, or if you prefer, a two-handled urn. Use your peyote skills with a smidgen of right angle weave and herringbone and LOTS of tension, add a few fire-polished beads and end up with an adorable little pitcher or amphora! Best of all, you don't have to decide which you'd prefer until almost the end, as the basic shape is the same for both of them. I used a pitcher and an urn as a pair of earrings, and I have threaded a chain through both handles of an amphora to use it as a pendant. These are so cute they don't need to be FOR anything, but they would also make adorable cell phone or purse charms. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY circular peyote tubular peyote stitch right angle weave good needle and thread skills good tension control SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS each vessel is about an inch high

Supplies Needed

  • Japanese size 11 seed beads (less than 10g)
  • Size 15 seed beads (small amount)

I can neither imagine nor remember a time when I wasn't making things. I have tried almost every fiber art, and currently knit and spin my own yarn. I sew clothes and furnishings occasionally. I've dabbled in polyclay, lampwork and silver-smithing, but immerse myself in seed beading. I teach at a local bead store, as well at national shows from time to time. Patterns in my shop are by and large based on classes I have taught, so they've been tested on real people!
