Project Description

What are you most proud of? The pattern is an original design that I created just for this shrug so it is truely a One of a Kind (OAK) garment. Please note the unique and original closure at center front. A very special little sweater that would make a wonderful heirloom quality gift. What advice would you give someone starting this project? There is no pattern for this sweater as it was designed especially for this garment. The handspun yarn is showcased by the simple, but very comfortable and unique shaping of this lovely little shrug. The stitch pattern is also a simple one, a combination of knit and purl stitches that highlights the lovely texture and halo of the handspun yarn. Should I write up the pattern? let me know if you are interested and Ill put it up the list.

What you will need

  • I spun the yarn from raw Angora Rabbit fiber which I blended with silk then handspun on my Louet S45 in a relatively fine thread then put 2 together for a nice balanced 2 ply yarn with plenty of integrety and balance but lots of beautiful handspun character. The resulting yarn is stunning in its softness with a very slight halo which will develop over time with more washing and wear. The silk component will not only add warmth and shine but it will make this angora garment even more durable and long lasting.
