Springwater Shawl

What was your source for this knitting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Springwater Shawl Link to website or photo www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/springwater-shawl What are you most proud of? This is my first crescent-shaped shawl design. I worked out a way to create the crescent-shape without short rows or multiple increases across the row. I'm sure it's not an original way to create this shape, but it works! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Run a lifeline before starting the lace. The lace has patterning on both the wrong side and right side rows so it's a little more "difficult" than lace where you just purl (or knit) all the wrong side stitches. Difficulty is in the eye of the beholder though! Stitch markers can help mark the repeats of the lace too.

You Can Make This

Mindy Wilkes made Springwater Shawl with:

  • fingering weight yarn
  • US 4 32 inch circular needles. Small size shawl is shown in Cascade Heritage in Turquoise. Large size shawl is shown in Springtree Road Muscadine Sock in Citron.
