The cable ribbing on the bodice really accentuates the hand-painted yarn. What advice would you give someone starting this project? The two-stitch cable may look intimidating, but it is a great beginner cable for a simple, fun tank top.

Q&A with Tabetha

linpiration asked:
Tabatha, I have a new granddaughter named Sami Kay and she would look so cute in this. I have some Taiyo cotton Noro yarn that is thick/thin but so colorful. Would this pattern be okay with an uneven yarn like Noro. I don't have to use that but I am looking for a pattern as it sits in a bag looking so forlorn. Thanks for your help! Good job and the girls are adorable! Sorelle Felici!
Tabetha answered:
I'm glad you like the design! Unfortunately, I think the Taiyo Cotton Noro is too heavy of a weight - the pattern uses a DK weight yarn and I think it would be difficult for you to get gauge with an aran weight. There are a couple of fabulous blends from Classic Elite (such as Fresco or Inca Alapca), Dream in Color, or Berroco that would work really really well. :) Good luck and happy knitting!
