Project

Skywalker

What are you most proud of? I'm proud of the fact that I actually made this beautiful shawl! I've never tried lace knitting before, thinking it would be too complicated. Laura made it soooo easy with her terrific step by step instructions and videos. What a great way to learn to knit something special! I'm also proud of the fact that my mom loved it and wants one too! On to my next Skywalker I think! What advice would you give someone starting this project? You can never have too many lifelines!!! Markers were a big help as well...It was a lot easier to catch a mistake early on in one of the marked sections, instead of waiting until the end of a row to realize that the stitch count did not turn out correctly, then having to look back through the entire row for the mistake. (Ask me how I know this!)

  • String Theory Hand Dyed Yarn Caper Sock - Skerry. I loved working with this yarn and loved the way the colors blended throughout the shawl. I will definitely be trying more colors of theirs for future projects.

Q&A with daisy6

@threegreenbananas asked:
I love the color! Congratulations, you did a beautiful job. I totally agree that Laura made the whole process easy, so Skywalker makes a great first shawl project. I'm going to try the String Theory yarn. Thanks for sharing.
daisy6 answered:
Thank you, I love the way the color came out as well. The String Theory yarn really does blend well and was a perfect choice for the Skywalker pattern.
ljh.littl1326696 asked:
Fantastic results, I have always wanted to be able to knit lace- but I pick up projects for short bursts so I would be forever working out where in the pattern I was- well done
daisy6 answered:
Thanks...this was a fun project to knit.
