Skywalker shawl

Project Description

What are you most proud of? I'm most proud of the perseverance I learned working through this project. It was the first lace project I ever undertook and although it was not without its challenges, I learned so much. I'm looking forward to making the next shawl in Laura Nelkin's online class. What advice would you give someone starting this project? The shawl was a bit smaller than I wanted so I added several pattern repeats as Laura suggests in the instructions in order to increase the finished size. The shawl also looks very attractive worn with the opening pinned closed on the right or left shoulder using a decorative pin. Don't be put off by the chart instructions. I found the chart so much easier to follow than the written instructions especially considering the fact that it was the first time I'd used a chart. Persevere! Don't let frustration win! The final rewards are worth all the time you spend making this project!
