Scarf, Hat and Fingerless Gloves

Project Description

What was your source for this knitting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo Indian Summer Hat Link to website or photo whiletheyplay.com/2009/07/indian-summer-free-knitting-pattern/comment-page-1/#comment-2015 What are you most proud of? That I did not tear my hair out every time I purled when I should have knit!!!! I wanted to try Brioche for the scarf but it looked too difficult so I decided to cast on 25 stitches and do 5 knit, 5 purl etc for each row which gave it the horizontal rows - interesting - did not expect that. For the gloves I looked at a couple of designs and decided to do garter stitch for 3 rows for the top bottom of the gloves and stockinette for the main body. As I could not get on with the circular needles I did them on straight needles and then sewed them together with the same yarn. So after only knitting since July 2013 I am really pleased that I can make decisions about what stitches to use. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Keep count of rows and stitches and look at your stitches when you start a new row to make sure you are on the correct stitch - unless of course you are simply knitting and doing the garter stitch.....
