Reversible Headbands

Project Description

What was your source for this knitting project? Other Tell us more about what inspired you. A pattern in a book and my DK class What are you most proud of? I used the skills I learned from the intro lesson to Foundations of Double Knitting, along with hints from the teacher, to figure out how to knit both sides of this headband at once, holding one yarn with my left hand and the other yarn with my right. I had never tried that before! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Learn to knit holding the yarn with the right hand, then holding the yarn with your left. I believe the first method is the continental way of knitting, and the other is the european way... Not sure about the names of either.

Q&A with Zanne50

Lucy Neatby asked:
Looks very cozy - is it handspun yarn?
Zanne50 answered:
Hello Lucy, I bought the yarn on Craftsy. It is Austermann Mariana. Wish I had bought more 'cause it doesn't seem available anymore. The teal yarn is actually two strands of a darker and lighter color knitted as one. The darker one is, I believe, alpaca; the other is a sport yarn from Cascade. Cheers!
Janet15 asked:
Where are the instructions for this? I have been searching all over the internet for instructions on making a double knit headband.
Zanne50 answered:
Lucy Neatby has hats and headband patterns on her website. Check it out! http://www.lucyneatby.com The heart dk headbands pictured here are my creation. I would be hard pressed to give you the instructions to make them at this time though. Sorry!
