I was going to make fingerless gloves following a pattern using seed stiches and a simple thumb opening. My son wanted an opening for each finger too! I purled the middle part of the gloves then knitted the top part and fingers using the double knitting method explained in Lucy Neatby"s intro to her "Foundations of Double Knitting" course. I closed the space between the fingers with darning needle and extra yarn. Et voil!
Et voila! (This site does not seem to recognize accents...)
Lucy Neatby asked:
Did you work the fingers as DK tubes?
Yes, many thanks for your advice with this. I am not stuck using dpns for small tubes anymore! What a discovery :) I'll be fixing fingers on old gloves next! +I just made knitted acorns using the casting on method for an open tube you showed in your intro. I figured out how to decrease holding a stitch with a dpn to be able to knit 2tog on the near facing work. I've been wanting to tell you : YOU ARE AN AWESOME TEACHER! I've learned more about knitting since I was able to watch the intro to this DK class of yours than ever before, and I've been knitting non stop!
