Project Description

What was your source for this knitting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo HeartStrings #A54 Oak Leaf Link to website or photo www.heartstringsfiberarts.com/a54.shtm What are you most proud of? This lace piece produces a nicely realistic-looking oak leaf. I was very proud to have worked out the lace shaping for this design. What advice would you give someone starting this project? Plan to pay attention when knitting this lace leaf. After doing one and seeing how the shaping works, making additional leaves will go more quickly because of your familiarity with the pattern.

What you will need

  • Shown in size 5 perle cotton on size US 3 needles for finished size of 6" by 4" excluding stem. The size of your leaf will depend on needle and thread used. There are guidelines in the pattern for anywhere from #30 crochet thread to size 5 perle cotton. (i.e. approximate lace weight to light fingering weight)
