Knitted teal and white fringed shawl

Project Description

What are you most proud of? The fact I can experiment with different kind of yarns and I am pretty sure it will always turn out. What advice would you give someone starting this project? It is a basic garter stitch, no pattern to follow, basic increases every end every row. The only tricky part is sometimes you drop a stitch and if you aren't paying attention, like I have been known to do, you may not notice it for a few rows. So now I check every row to make sure this doesn't happen. This is a wonderful project for a beginner. You don't need to use 2 strands of yarn, you can use size 15 needles if you don't have 17's.

What you will need

  • Berroco Seduce yarn Plymouth Eros trellis yarn

davyboy429 asked:
Love it:) How much yarn do you need for it? What are its measurements?
carol white answered:
I used 3 skeins of Berroco Bonsai bamboo, 100 yards each, and 2 skeins of Plymouth Eros trellis yarn, about 150 each. So about 300 yards each especially if you do the 5 inch fringe, or 300 yards of a single skein. . It measures 60 inches across and 34 inches each side, and 15 inches down the backk

Carol, this is so gorgeous! I love that you worked this beautiful yarn up on large needles to really show off its texture. Great job!
carol white answered:
Thank you so much, Sexy Knitter! I appreciate your comment. I have used it many times with many different yarns, and they always turn out. Thanks again.
sherig47 asked:
Do you yarn over to increase?
carol white answered:
I didn't. I just used the tried and true knit in the front then back to increase at the end. I have seen some patterns that do the yo, bu t at the beginning the pattern calls for the slip, psso. to decrease
