Project Description

What are you most proud of? I was really pleased with the way the conkers turned out, as it was as close as I could get to the shape in nature. The aren't just a ball. The way I have constructed them, gives the top the characteristic dimple. But I felt that the conkers needed a little bed, which is why I have added the shell instructions to the pattern. I do realise some people may be thinking "Why knit a conker?", and I can only reply "Why not!". What advice would you give someone starting this project? The short rows in this pattern may seem a bit confusing at first if you have not knitted these before, but once you have done a few rows I hope you see they are not too hard.

What you will need

  • I used a very small amount of brown 4ply wool
  • and an even smaller amount of tan wool. Also you will need a little wadding to stuff your conker.
