Buds in the Breeze

Project Description

What was your source for this knitting project? Online Photo or Website Name of website or photo HeartStrings#H77 Buds in the Breeze Stole Link to website or photo www.heartstringsfiberarts.com/h77.shtm What are you most proud of? Although this stole appears to have complex shaping, it is actually knitted on the same number of stitches from end to end. I've designed this stole to leverage both illusion and the blocking process to achieve the shaping: 1. An illusion is created by the varying width of the garter stitch rows along the side edges as they dip into the main stitch area at regular intervals. 2. Accentuating the points during the blocking process (blocking guide photos included in pattern). What advice would you give someone starting this project? Finished Size: 15" by 72" Yarn: 700 yards light fingering weight Gauge: 18 stitches = 4 inches over blocked lace stitch Suggested needles: US 6 / 4 mm Construction: worked flat in rows from end to end in one piece, no sewing or grafting Stitch instructions: charted and written Stitches used: knit, purl, slip, ssk, k2tog, yarn over Special techniques: Estonian nupps Skill level: intermediate or adventurous advanced beginner lace knitter
