The wonderful ruching texture on this slouchy hat is created by dramatically increasing and then decreasing stitches while changing needle sizes. Winkin is designed with a loose fit, but you can adjust the size by changing the CO. Just keep an even number of stitches. GAUGE 23 sts = 4 in. in stockinette stitch on larger needles SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Hat Circumference at brim: 19.5 incheshat is quite stretchy, and will fit head sizes 19-22 inches. Length to top of hat: 10 inches. The hat is designed to flop over at the top, and should be at least 5 inches taller than the distance from your ear to the crown of your head.
