I love whales and I know lots of kids who love whales too. I designed this Whale pattern to look most like the flat headed sperm whale. He certainly is cuddly, from his cheeky grin to his impressive tail. For an INTERMEDIATE knitter because there are some right and left leaning increases, a provisional cast on, a few short rows (fully explained in the pattern) and one tricky stitch. There are only two short sewn seams in this pattern. HINTS AND TIPS to help you with this pattern are available on my blog this is mentioned in the pattern. I'm an expat Brit living in the San Francisco Bay Area and a stay at home Mum. I'm also an avid knitter with many ideas for interesting designs using unusual construction and techniques. My Mum taught me to knit when I was 7 years old, I thought I'd forgotten it but when I came back to knitting 7 years ago I discovered that it was all still there. I love to knit in 3D and around corners, so I use knitting in the round and short row shaping in many of my designs. I'd also prefer not to sew lots of pieces together, so my knitted toy designs have as little sewing as I can manage.
