I created this pattern (while on vacation at the ocean), for my sister-in-law who sits beneath an air conditioning vent at work. She requested something that would keep her neck warm, as she has a short hairdo, but something that would still be lightweight. The design is such that the front does not come up on the neck. However, if you want a "dickie" cowl, just keep working the ribbing in the round and do not use Chart 3. But remember it will use up a little more yarn. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY k2tog, p2tog, ssk, knit in the round GAUGE 5 st to the inch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS one size fits all SUGGESTED YARN 120 yards of Worsted weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Cascade Indulgence COLORWAY Teal

I have crafted all my life. You name the craft, I've probably done it (or it's on my to do list). I've always been handy and inventive, and I love puzzles and who done its. I'm a granny of 5, with part-time granny duties (so I retired). I'm also a wife, and mom of 2 sons and a lab. My granny duties will be coming to an end, in the next couple of years (youngest is 11), so I'm getting back into my crafts full time. Lately my main craft has been knitting, but I'm also getting back into quilting and sewing, in general. I have done portrait art throughout my lifetime, and also spent 7 years as a police sketch artist. My father was raised learning every skill available and he passed on, to me, a little electrical, carpentry, and plumbing. So I fix everything in the house, and do the majority of repairs. I'm a fair weather gardener. Over 80, or under 60, the plants can die and the weeds can grow. When it's between 60 and 80, I'll take care of the survivors. I'm also immensely enjoying the Internet, and love that great classes are offered here, as well as good sales on nice yarn and fabric.
