Villemo is a triangular scarf knit from side to side in garter stitch with a simple lace edging. Being a very shallow triangle, it fits nicely under your coat, without adding too much bulk. It is a small and fast project making it suitable as a last minute gift. Using only about 240 yards of yarn Villemo also is the perfect project to use a skein of lovely handspun yarn or that single skein of leftover yarn you didn(tm)t know what to do with. The pattern is suitable for beginner lace knitters. Specific required skills are listed above. Instructions are both written and charted. The pattern has been test knit and professionally tech edited to reduce the possibility for error, but if you have questions or believe that you have found an error, please contact me. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY Cast on Knit Increase and decrease Basic lace knitting (yo, k2tog) Bind off GAUGE 17 sts/30 rows = 4"/10 cm Gauge is not important in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect the finished size and the yarn requirement. For a nice drape, the gauge should be looser than the recommended gauge for the yarn. SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 60 x 10" / 150 x 25 cm You can knit a bigger/smaller scarf by knitting more/less repeats of the pattern and/or using a bigger/thinner yarn. Changing the size of the scarf or the yarn weight will affect the required amount of yarn. SUGGESTED YARN 240 yards of DK weight

Recommended with this pattern

  • 240 yd/220 m dk weight yarn
  • US#8/5mm circular or staight needles, or the needles that gives you a fabric you like.
  • Tapestry needle
