PATTERN DETAILS

The Tum Tum pattern is as close to a traditional moccasin as you can get--except it's knitted! These moccasins are knit in a warm, breathable and lightweight wool, designed to stay on a baby's foot securely with the help of a tongue and woven I-cord. With a garter stitch sole, purled shoe and seed stitch along the top, this moccasin is as much fun to look at, as it is to knit! The fringe is the best part... Taken from a deceptively easy technique used to adorn a special kind of embroidery called Mountmellick, it is first knitted in a lace stitch, then unraveled to create the fringe. Small seed beads can also be sewn on to add a colorful touch and traditional flair to these adorable, one-of-a-kind, trendy baby booties. Pattern includes helpful photos and instructions including notes on all the techniques described. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY knit and purl decrease and increase GAUGE 6st/8.5 rows = 1 inch in reverse stockinette SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS 3-6 months, 9-12 months, 18-24 months

Despite telling my mom years ago that I would never become a knitter, I took up a pair of needles in 2009 and haven’t put them down since! Knitting is an outlet for my creative energy and my desire to always be making things with my hands. My goal as a designer is to create unique knitting patterns; inspired by the beautiful, wild and rugged landscape of the Pacific Northwest--a place I loves to explore and am privileged to call home. I strives to write patterns that are easy to follow and simply enjoyable both to knit and to wear. Keeping busy by day as a wife, mother of three and homemaker, I love to spend my evenings curled up on the couch with a cup of coffee, knitting, planning and sketching my never-ending design ideas. :) If you have an questions about any of my patterns, would like to become a test knitter or to set up a trunk show, please feel free to contact me! I’d love to help!
