This pattern came into being because I needed a cowl. I worked this up and immediately fell in love. The stitch pattern is a variation of k2 p2 ribbing and it gives a great textured feel. It looks impressive while really being very easy to do. This is a great pattern for that one skein of special yarn, or when you need a quick knit that's easy and turns out a great result. This pattern is also easily modified for width and length. There are two lengths of cowl written in this pattern. The short length is more of a neckwarmer and is meant to work for one skein of Bulky or Super Bulky yarn. The long length should work for 2 skeins. Amount needed varies between 100-250 yards (87 m - 229 m) depending on which length and which yarn is chosen. Due to the nature of digital downloads, this pattern is nonrefundable. Please ask any questions before purchase. I've been doing all sorts of crafts for most of my life. I love the pattern and structure of mathematics and how mathematics is interwoven with design and nature. I am inspired by color. I think one of the reasons that I've always enjoyed art and design is that I enjoy thinking analytically and transferring that into an artistic interpretation. I enjoy taking what I know and creating my own interpretation. I hope you enjoy knitting my patterns as much as I have enjoyed designing them. My goal is to provide a clear and well-written pattern that includes all of the information that you need to get a great result. The project might be challenging but that should not include trying to figure out the pattern! You may always email me at
