PATTERN DETAILS

Important note to customers This pattern is free, but as of 1st January, 2015, due to new EU VAT laws, I will no longer be able to publish my paid patterns on craftsy. However if you want to buy any of my patterns you can do this via ravelry at this address: http://www.ravelry.com/stores/rian-anderson Ravelry is a really useful site for knitters and crocheters, and it compliments, but does not compete with, Craftsy. I do apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this causes. An easy pattern to make both a scarflette or a cowl neckwarmer. Using multipes of 3 stitches it is mainly in all-knit garter stitch with a simple 3 x 3 cabled plait offset along it's length. A very simple buttonhole completes the project. This would be a good one for beginners learning to do cabling. Yarns can be anything you like from 10 ply/ worsted to 12 ply/ Aran or bulky. It's very quick to make and the 8 row pattern is very easy to remember. Have fun! FYI - you will need: Scarflette: 10 ply /worsted or 12 ply/ Aran yarn x 170 m/ 185 yds - 180 m/195 yds (sample used 70 gms of 10 ply Sean Sheep Rockbank ) 1 large button approx 2 cms diameter Cowl: 10 ply /worsted or 12 ply/ Aran yarn x 100 m/ 110 yds - 110m/ 120 yds (sample used 75 gms of 12 ply Moda Vera Harmony) 3 large buttons approx 2 cms diameter GAUGE 18 sts, 32 rows to 4" in garter st SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Scarflette: width 15 cms/ 6 "; length 82 cms/32 " Cowl: width 15 cms/ 6 "; length 58 cms/23 "

About me: I learnt to knit when I was 4 and have been happily creating ever since. I have a lot of fun designing patterns for sale - most are quirky things like dog tea cosies, dragon scarves and koala hats. I also make toys, children's clothes, and things for adults too. I published a book - "The Odd Ball Knit Book" on how to use up all your odd bits of stash to make fantastic garments: see my website: www.riananderson.com.
