The name for the Third Street Blanket is inspired by a map of one of the oldest neighborhoods in Kansas City...my hometown. The Third Street Blanket is knit with super bulky weight yarn so it is quick to knit on big needles. Knit flat, in one piece, back and forth on US size 13 circular knitting needles. This pattern uses standard U.S. knitting terms. Written pattern with row by row instructions. Pattern includes instructions for FIVE blanket sizes. Any of the blanket sizes may be made longer by adding pattern repeats. Each pattern repeat adds about 1.25" to the length of the blanket. Pattern includes estimates for additional yardage needed to make blankets longer. This pattern will work well with many super bulky weight yarns. I like Lion Brand Thick & Quick Solids. You may also experiment with knitting two strands of bulky or worsted weight yarn together...remember you will need about twice as much yardage!
