PATTERN DETAILS

The is the female counter-part to The Sportsman. I have had a zillion requests for a women's glove that fits a woman's hand (if you've knit The Sportsman, you know it doesn't fit a woman's hand like a glove should). This glove pattern is sized small, medium, and large and fits hands from approximately age 9 to 900. This is the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, likes warm hands while still being able to work touch-screen electronics, who has a husband who likes to keep the furnace on low in the winter, or who hates driving in mittens! This pattern can be worked two-at-a-time to a point using the magic loop or two cable needle methods. GAUGE 9 stitches by 11 rows = 1 inch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS small: Knitted wrist circumference = 6.0 inches (fits wrist up to 7.25 inches); Palm = 3.25 inches from base of thumb gusset across palm; Circumference at fingers = 7.0 inches; Thumb = 2.5 inches in length from base of thumb to bind-off; Overall length of glove = 6.75 inches. medium: Knitted wrist circumference = 7.0 inches (fists wrist up to 8.25 inches); Palm = 3.5 inches from base of thumb gusset across palm; Circumference at fingers = 7.5 inches; Thumb = 3.25 inches in length from base of thumb to bind-off; Overall length of glove = 7.5 inches. large: Knitted wrist circumference = 7.5 inches (fits wrist up to 8.75 inches); Palm = 4.00 inches from base of thumb gusset across palm; Circumference at fingers = 8.0 inches; Thumb = 3.25 inches in length from base of thumb to bind-off; Overall length of glove = 8.0 inches.
