Pattern Details

Just a little bit of texture adorns this asymmetrical shawl, knitted from side to side. The design consists of simple texture stitches, alternated with garter stitch, providing a good balance between mindless knitting and rows that require just a bit of attention! Enjoyable for beginners with a little experience, and more advance knitters as well. Adaptable for any gauge, the pattern will work best for yarns with very little color variation. Materials used for sample: Madelinetosh Merino Light: 2 skeins (color shown is Thyme - appr 700 yards) Pattern is written in American terminology. You are welcome to sell items made from this pattern, on a limited basis. Please credit me for the design, and include a link or reference to my shop when possible. Pattern is copyright protected; it should not be reproduced, redistributed, re-sold, or displayed publicly in any way.

I'm Melanie Rice, a freelance designer living in Texas, with lots of pets and lots of yarn…. I would describe my style as classic, with clean lines, smooth edges, and minimal fuss. My design goals include: ~ creating useful / wearable designs that are simple without being boring, ~ providing adaptability in the designs whenever possible, ~ writing patterns that are concise and clear with an uncluttered layout, ~ including affordable yarns when knitting my samples, and giving acknowledgement to stitch pattern sources as applicable. I am fortunate to have patterns featured in Interweave Knits Magazine, LoveKnitting’s Winter Catalogs and monthly Top 10 Pattern selections, and Craftsy’s Crochet Blog. I hope you find something in the shop that you will enjoy, and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have a question!
