PATTERN DETAILS

Fashioned after a medieval tabard, "Tabard Vest" is a fun topper that will add style and grace to nearly any outfit. Easy knitting, easy fitting and easy wearing - you'll reach for this vest time & time again. "Tabard Vest" features a Lace & Cable stitch pattern, front & back V-neckline and flexible button placement. The Lace & Cable pattern creates a nicely scalloped hemline while the center cable frames the flattering V-neck. Naturally formed openings in the stitch pattern serve as buttonholes - which leaves the shoulders to be joined and the 'button links' to be crafted as the only finishing! Shape and fit are determined by where the buttons are placed - high, low, or somewhere in-between - it's knitter's choice. This allows you to customize the fit & look of "Tabard Vest" without making adjustments to your knitting. Knit "Tabard Vest" in Soft Payette by Universal Yarns (as shown in the sample - yarn has sequins in it) for a dressier look, or knit it in a matte yarn for a more casual top. I love projects that are easy to knit yet have that special touch - and "Tabard Vest" is one of these projects. I've been a 'crafter' all my life, and especially enjoy fiber arts. My first professional design was published in 2005, and since then I've had my designs published in knit.wear, Knitscene, Creative Knitting, Love of Knitting, Knitcircus, Twist Collective, Three Irish Girls Yarns, Universal Yarns, and Cascade Yarns, along with several books by DRG Publications. When not knitting, thinking about knitting or dreaming up new designs, I love spending time with my husband and pets, in the high plains of Colorado where we live.
