Cute little summer shawl. Just enough to keep your shoulders warm in the air-conditioned offices, but not so big to have to fight with it all day to make it stay up. This pattern looks very classic in single coloured, yarn, but it totally changes the mood with some multicoloured sock yarn! Go play around. This pattern knits up fast, so why not make more than one? Gauge is not incredibly important for this project. Make a swatch and find the needle size you like best with the yarn. You will definitely have enough yards to finish the project. There was quite a bit leftover from the skein when I was done. Beads are optional BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY basic lace knitting skills SUGGESTED YARN 525 yards of Fingering weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Swans Island Natural Colors Merino Fingering

Supplies Needed

My username is goddessofwhimsy on Raverly and my website is I am a freelance designer for many years now. I have designed for Plymouth yarns, Koigu, The Alpaca yarn company, Darn Good Yarn and many more. My designs have been published in Vogue knitting. At the moment I am looking for a company to take me on as their in house designer. I would love to be part of a team. I still do freelance designing and even custom knitting through my newly established designing firm Slipknot designs. I no longer sell the rights to any of my designs. I have been taught to knit when I was 5 or six, by my Grandmother in Bavaria, where I was born and raised. I have knitted and crochet on and off throughout the years. At 24 I came to the States, met the most wonderful of all husbands and needed something to do when the kids would take naps and my husband was at work. I also lived right across the street from a shop that sold yarn and needles and other crafty things. One afternoon I went and got myself some cotton and a crochet hook and the rest is history! I want to give a thanks to my husband at this point, who has put up with my antics over the years and has been encouraging me and believing in me always! Thank you baby! I love you! And to my children: I think you are the most amazing little monkeys around and I would not want to be without any of you ever again!
