PATTERN DETAILS

Sty Head Tarn is different things to different people - a welcome first break for tea and sandwiches before a more challenging mountain ascent, or a destination in itself. A chance to sit and experience the glorious mountains surrounding the area. The broad rippling cables evoke the ripples often seen in this sheltered, yet exposed tarn. This sock is worked with a traditional gusset heel flap and is fully customisable in terms of length - further pattern repeats may be added as required, and width - additional ribbing may be added at the sides to fit a slightly wider foot. The unisex cable pattern and flexible pattern repeats make it an ideal sock for gift knitting. As with many of my patterns, this sock is offered in both toe-up and cuff down versions. Please ensure you choose the version you require before checkout. Many thanks for your interest in my patterns - knit strong and have warm feet! BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY cable knit socks from the toe up GAUGE 32 st to 4" SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Medium (8" circumference) or Large (9") SUGGESTED YARN 400 yards of Fingering weight

My username is LouiseTilbrook and my website is louisetilbrookdesigns.blogspot.co.uk/ My passion for knitting socks has finally spilled over into sock pattern design. My aim is to create simple but classic socks in semi-solid and solid colours - suitable for men and women alike. All too often I have struggled to find sock patterns suitable for the men in my life which don’t involve miles of stockinette so I decided to create a range of straightforward and elegant patterns, easily adaptable for men and women. I love to support British Indie dyers and have a particular fondness for semi-solids and subtle colourways.
