Molehill is a semicircular shawl, worked from the bottom up, and decreased to the last 6 stitches, which are then grafted together, or joined with a three-needle bind-off. The ground is garter stitch (wrong side rows are knitted) which makes for a quick project for most knitters. The pattern is charted. Gauge is not very significant, and size and texture can be easily altered by use of different needles and yarn. Materials: approx. 500 m / 550 y of light fingering yarn. A long circular needle is recommended to comfortably accommodate all stitches at cast-on, but straight needles can also be used. BASIC SKILLS NECESSARY This pattern is for intermediate level knitters. Skills necessary are paired double and triple decreasing, YO and grafting or three-needle bind-off. GAUGE 15 stitches and 12 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette stitch SIZING / FINISHED MEASUREMENTS Knitting at given gauge, the finished shawl is blocked to 152 cm wide (60) and 76 cm deep (30). SUGGESTED YARN 550 yards of Fingering weight PREFERRED BRAND/YARN Spinni (Wool 1) by Isager Strik COLORWAY 23S
