PATTERN DETAILS

Smoke and Mirrors, an elegant shawl that can be worn for evening dress or, more casually, with jeans. It is versatile and, while I chose a sparkly hard-twist black Merino for the background and a misty gray fingering wool for the smoke, the color choice is up to the knitter. I can see this in lovely aquas and blues, looking fresh and watery. I can see it in starkly contrasting colors to create a more dramatic look. The shawl is large and full of drape. It can be worn any number of ways, depending on the wearer's mood. GAUGE gauge is unimportant here

Recommended with this pattern

  • 200 g (approx 900 yards) of fingering-weight black sparkles yarn (Cover shawl used Galloping Jester's Midnight) 150 g (approx. 700 yds) of fingering-weight very light gray yarn (Cover shawl used KnitPicks Palette Mist) **Any fingering-weight yarn will do One multi-length cable #9 circular needle, five #9 DPNs, Stitch markers, and tapestry needle

I love everything about knitting...knitting itself, designing and now, creating yarn for you to use when working my patterns. Let me customize the blend and colorways you want: https://www.colorworksbydebi.com Some people see a gorgeous sunset and photograph it. Others paint it. I knit it. Fiber and fabric are my media. Knitting the sunset makes it mine.
